Please note that for manuscripts >10,000 words, a longer timeframe may be required.
The Flat Rate Package has the following fee:
Flat rate calculated according to a pre-agreed character count (rate per “10,000 characters without spaces”).

- Review of target journal author guidelines.
- Making vocabulary and technical terms consistent.
- Ensuring all short forms are correctly defined.
- Re-writing select sentences or phrases for correctness or clarity.
- Reducing the word count by approx. 10% (if needed).
- Correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation and spacing errors.
- One review round (usually this consists of finalising edits after I have asked you to make a style or vocabulary decision, and/or having a call with you to discuss any queries you have after I send you the edited document).
- Adding my name to the acknowledgement section.
The Flat Rate Package does not include:
(because these services are better addressed through my hourly rate or retainer packages)
- Major re-write or re-structuring (developmental editing).
- Writing content, carrying out data analysis, creating tables or figures.
- Editing revisions requested by the journal.
- Submitting or project managing the submission.
- Translating
- Combining the work of multiple authors.
- Adding, formatting, or updating references and reference lists.
- A guarantee that your paper will be accepted, or that you will pass your PhD defence (!)

Hourly Rate

The Hourly Rate Package is suitable for:
Manuscripts and other medical writing from start to finish.
Project management for medical education activities and manuscript submission.
The Hourly Rate Package has the following timing:
Projects that stretch over several weeks or months, with the expectation of stakeholder collaboration, multiple review stages, and a final product at the end.

Hourly rate with a pre-agreed maximum budget, to be invoiced monthly.

- Medical writing of a paper, abstract or poster, using your data and analysis.
- References management, in collaboration with you.
- Medical writing of lay summaries, patient or HCP educational material for print, online or eLearning format.
- Developmental editing – re-writing or re-structuring a paper, report, website content or similar.
- Journal revisions – editing of revisions for re-submission, editing and cross-referencing of the point-by-point reply, reformatting for submission to a new journal.
- Submission project management – coordinating drafts and author feedback, combining the work of multiple authors, collecting COI forms, completing the online submission.
- Medical education project management – liaising with subject matter experts, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Travel to site, or to conferences.*
- Adding my name to the acknowledgement section.

- Thesis content writing (because this has to be your own work ????).

This is an attractive financial deal for you, because I lower my rates in return for regularity. We agree a monthly fee and the expected tasks to be completed.
